Bird-flu UK: First human victim
named
Graham
Bradley, aged 27, a civil servant from south London, has been
identified as the UK's first victim of bird-flu.
Bradley,
a civil servant, phoned in sick on Wednesday last week, claiming to be
suffering from 'bird flu-like symptoms'.
Phoning
again on Thursday, he told managers that his
condition had deteriorated, and that he was unlikely to be in again
that week. Bradley, now returned to his post, said he does not know
how he contracted the disease, but believes it may have been from
contaminated poultry products.
'I
went out for a drink on Tuesday night to celebrate Dave from IT
getting promoted. I recall having a large chicken-shish on the way
home, probably from a Turkish source.'
Doctors
have been unable to comment on the case as Bradley did not visit one
during his period of illness.
'I
was off for three days, so I self-certed,' said Bradley yesterday.
'It's got nothing to do with the doctors. Straight-forward case of the
bird-flu.'
'Lover's toilet' not so
romantic after all
Cinema
owners in Manchester have closed their innovative 'Lover's toilet'.
Multiplexicityflicks stated that the toilet did not prove as popular as
they had hoped with the city's courting couples.
Regular
cinema goer
Daniel Edwards split-up with his girlfriend after sharing the facility.
'There are some things that shouldn't be shared,' he said yesterday.
